I am trying to get a sense of how “reopening the economy” will play out. Here is a list of some basic questions to ask yourself in order to try to get a feel for how you, yourself will reenter society. (if anyone wants to fill in answers and reply, I will try to collate them).
Some Questions:
- If you know someone who has recovered from COVID-19, how many days need to pass before you would be comfortable being near them? At home? At work? At a shop or restaurant? How would you know?
- If the president issues an executive order countermanding every Governor and opening the economy in every state, when will you feel comfortable going out? In a week? Two? A month? After you have been vaccinated? After there is a proven therapeutic treatment? When the infection rate (R0 has dropped to 1? 1.2? 1.5?)
- If your elective surgery was cancelled because of the current crisis, when the ban is lifted how long will you delay until you reschedule?
- In a hospital that still has COVID-19 patients?
- In a hospital that no longer has COVID-19 patients?
- In a stand-alone surgery center?
- As an outpatient?
- When the economy is reopened, how long will you wait until you:
- Send your kids to school?
- Send your kids to summer camp?
- Invite friends to your home?
- Go on a date?
- Go for a walk on a busy city street?
- Visit a Mall?
- Go to a religious service?
- Go to a restaurant or bar?
- Go to a movie, theatre or concert?
- Go to a sporting event?
- Go to a clothing or shoe store and try on items?
- Fly on an airplane?
- o Stay in a Motel?
- Visit a foreign country?
- How long needs to pass before you are willing to go to:
- An election poll in person?
- A bank?
- A Government office such as Dept. of Motor Vehicles or Social Security?
- An adult education class?
- A group activity such as a band or chorus rehearsal?
- A school play or concert?
- A charity event?
- A family celebration such as a wedding, bar mitzvah, Seder?
